What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, remember your preferences, and provide information to the website owner.
The shopping basket is stored in your browser’s local storage. The site also loads Google Analytics 4, Ahrefs Web Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure usage and performance.

Basket storage and account services
The public course pages do not provide the learner login service. Checkout and learning accounts are handled by separate services, which can use their own cookies.
- Basket: local storage holds the course identifiers and quantities you select.
- Account and payment services: these may use session and security cookies when you visit them.
The basket uses the cart local-storage entry. It remains until you change the basket or clear site data. When you proceed to checkout, selected course identifiers and quantities are sent to the payment site to prepare your order.
Analytics cookies
Google Analytics 4 measures visits, course interest and basket activity. It can set _ga and _ga_… cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions. Google’s default expiry for these cookies is two years; browser settings and configuration can affect this.
- Google Analytics uses browser and session identifiers. These identifiers may be passed to our payment site to measure checkout activity.
- Ahrefs and Cloudflare also measure website usage. Their web analytics services are designed to operate without analytics cookies.
This website currently has no on-page cookie preference panel. Browser privacy settings and the controls offered by analytics providers can restrict collection; deleting cookies alone does not prevent future requests.
Managing cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Here is how to do it in common browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
- Safari (Mac): Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data

Blocking storage or scripts can affect the basket or other functions. Separate payment and learning services may also be affected by your browser settings.
To clear local storage (which is where your basket is stored), use the "Clear site data" or equivalent option in your browser's developer tools or privacy settings.
Third parties
When you proceed to checkout, you will be redirected to our secure payment page at payment.onlinecpdacademy.co.uk. That page is operated by Online CPD Academy and may set its own cookies for the purposes of processing your payment securely. Please refer to their privacy and cookie notices for details.
Google Analytics, Ahrefs and Cloudflare receive information used to measure site usage and performance. Their documentation is linked in the sources below.
Social links take you to external platforms. Those platforms apply their own cookie and privacy policies when you visit them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we add new functionality to the site or if the law changes. The current version will always be available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
